my neighbor,c vaughn,is going to let me use his shop to modify lower unit .if all goes as planned.ill start on it thursday.
the plan is to add the washer/venturi and make the top two tubes equal in level and in spacing distance from plumbbob.i think about 1/2 inch on each side. this way unit doesnt short and activate into plasma until voltage is high enough. a half inch should be close to 20,000 vdc. but im not sure because pressure will be very low in it.

That second Abydos pic looks just like a 100Kv test probe.... Good work Robo!

,some folks may not understand what we mean by insulators so i will post some pics.

this is the newer epoxy resin type.the brown type are ceramic and will not burn . the epoxy ones will but are way lighter.

yes pwm ,thats what i hope the newer members understand.alot of the older high voltage test probes looked similar to these insulators. the upper pic is a current test probe. me like very much. since teflon has been invented.the new test probes dont use the style presented in the last pics. some of the smaller hv test probes do use a single mushrooming extension.i suspect just so handlers dont slip their hands or get to close and get electrocuted by an arc.imho

linkthis link is all about gas discharge and is a very good article. it talks about the smushing of frequency lines as current goes up. kinda like a UFO turning purple to white as it accelerates. another really interesting tidbit was a mention about occilations in the plasma.hmm?due to electrons being created in waves and not a constant stream.

I've been reading this chart wrong and not realizing that mercury's curve is basically opposite of most gas discharge. I only need 7mm's spacing from plumbbob and pressure can be a little higher which increases velocity of gas. this means lower voltage is needed to get it started.that means lower velocity is needed to get it done.two improvements in one night. I intend to start rewelding in two days.

this talks about pressure basically leveling off at 500°c. ionization starts at 1000°c from what prior articles state.

so even if plumbbob triboelectric effect didn't get the voltage needed the gas will naturally ionize at that temp anyways.one way or another, plasma will be created.

when pwm was originally talking about resonance, neither him or i really knew exactly how but thought it so.i think the waves are the resonance.

You just do your thing Robo, you're a shining example for all of us. Sometimes i think you're mad as a sackfull of ferrets but i really appreciate that you do what you say, and you follow up on the research like every good inventor should. What most inventors never do, is make careful records & measurements "Never give up" is a motto i often use, every experiment is part of the learning curve You were in the thick of it from day one, and i thank you for that, and i will continue to help in any way i can, yes even if i think you're nuts at times, sometimes we simply need more nuts! Go for it! (I went for it, but it was already gone, LOL)
