I am wondering, if you, meaning the world had the oppertunity to get the first TAP Robot. Which one would help Tap the most. Now I don't mean I-Robot. I am thinking about a single purpose one. Being in Engineering I know that every single Robot the world would like can not be invented at the same time, So we would need a priority list to work from. Forget regions for now also. Think world.

Well, I don't see any one robot being introduced that will "make a difference," but rather that, as the cost of energy is removed and robots become cheaper and cheaper, they will be developed and applied wherever We need work done and there is no One who wants to do it. A plethora of robots will emerge.
That's the beauty of T.A.P. Things emerge naturally, stigmergically. There is no need of a "priority list." The priorities will be set by need. A large percentage of the robots We need are already invented and in use (but run on energy that needs to be paid for). Robots building things. 3D printing also will assist in creating what We need.
And I never think in terms of regions... This is a planetary emergence.

i suspect military bots are first, then police, then aid workers. with all the boomers retiring, now is the time to start making and selling the aid workers. like android software, make a base unit and then folks will have options for attachments.make the attachment protocols open source to speed things along.to give the minions the hope and drive to innovate.

Wait, wait, wait, robo. You think any will join a military at this point when it's clear that the whole war thing is staged with live props? When there's nothing anOther can pay You with to join? When there's no way to pay anOther to create propaganda and spread it? Any place We need to fill in distribution should be the primary focus. First question is, are there enough People who love to do it? Second is do We really want it? Third, how can We make the best?

good morning guys, russia military has started putting robots in its section of the north pole for security.i suspect its the first place to market them. no im not pro war but security is the main market to get started in.its easiest and has most potential to get robot market started. sometimes you got to break some eggs.the trick is not to let the small robot company become a corporation.that seems to be the point where things go south. a person could go straight to robots aiding people but that market seems to be harder to get into. to kill a market, you have to be in it first, usually.to wean off money takes time.

Well, yes, dear. This will be going on. In this system with money We are presently in. Here We are looking at what robots need focus in going to the abundance paradigm. We are not looking for ways to make money but solutions to problems. One problem, created by the main problem, is that real solutions on this planet have been suppressed.
Trying to solve the problem using the problem is unlikely to succeed. Better is to use communication to Our advantage - which many of Us do. If Ethical People want to get started with the tool of money, all the more likely We can get this ball rolling.

for robots to aid people,i first think of nurses aids.bathing, wiping rears. the first ones may not even have hands.but humanoid shapes are psychologically better. its usually easier to just build a system in place than to build a mobile unit. kinda like using a biday versus a robot doing that function. or like why a robot dig a ditch with a shovel versus an automated trench machine. so then it comes down to if we automate everything.what automations are top priority. food production is almost there.the driverless cars program could be used on tractor trailers in the next few years.this could very soon ,wipe out the trucking industry.

The specifics I leave to Those who can build and program. I imagine many will choose to handle things like that personally. Where there is a need, though, I see a central site where requests can be placed and Those with answers, solutions, information, and such can offer it. And as for automation, again, Those better equipped to evaluate logistics and requirements than I am can make reputation and prestige making is work.
Yes, food production is nearly automated now, but I would not want to take away from Those who LOVE to farm. They can decide how much land They want to work, and the robots will move away. And most farming can be done with the new tech such as vertical farming such that very little land is required to produce huge quantities of food.
As for trucking... In a world that uses money, this is surely a threat, having robots take over. In TAP, if One LOVES to drive a truck and deliver things, One may choose to do so. Otherwise, One is free to do what it is One loves to do elsewhere. The idea is to allow Us to do anything We want to do within the three Laws of Ethics. How much more freedom - an American principle that is given lots of lip service but few want it for ALL - can One get?

I see Robo's point of view; in the current system that's where the most research is funded, unless the dod are funding it, you have very little to start with. And robot police are a good move, it removes all political, religious, or racial or other ethnic bias when dealing with crime. Now crimes, as Amy pointed out, are mostly to do with money, and in a money-less system, crime will be reduced to almost nothing, there will remain crimes of passion etc, but these are in the minority, and if peeps have the freedom to do what they want (within the 3 laws etc) then i expect they will be a lot happier to start with. Robots can of course act much faster than peeps, so they will be ideal as firefighters, medics etc not only cops. However, i'm not a politician, i'm just an engineer. Obviously the humaniform robots, androids, will be the most useful, if not exactly the best form (6 legs make the ideal robot it seems, the explorer ones resemble insects more than anything else) but these ones will need to drive human vehicles, operate machines & household appliances that were deigned for human hands, and of course humans would prefer a 6 foot android as opposed to a 6 foot insect in their homes they are more easily accepted psychologically. Like the food industry, which is highly automated already, we could easily build special robots for all the jobs that humans can do. So now peeps will complain that they have no work, but then they will have all they need anyway, certainly the basics that we all should have like good housing, food, water, & of course free energy & by definition, free transport. This will leave all those 'jobless' peeps free to do what THEY WANT to do, instead of a mind numbing job taking up most of the day, doing something menial & unappreciated, just to pay the rent & put food on the table. What a waste of human energy. If the house, the food, and in fact everything else was free, i think we wil see peeps really start to explore their own limits, it will be a new renaissance.... Of course, some of us will choose to become lazy fat couch potatoes, and it is hoped that even they could contribute something to the all, before they die, they will be the losers because they have willfully shortened their lives for no apparent reason. I think obesity will also disappear in time because of this. But that's for the future, as i see it. Right now we need to raise the awareness, and release the free energy (& other tech) to the general public, preferbly yesterday, it's that urgent. Let the first robot be called Adam, and he may plug himself into every socket in the garden, except for that one under the apple tree..lol -PWM-

We don't need police! With the removal of money, there is VERY little motive to break the three Laws of Ethics (the ONLY Laws).
Why would You defraud another? Where would the motive be if You can live as richly as You chose to? What would be the point?
Why would You take or damage anOther's property when You can have what You want for free?
Why would You hurt or kill anOther against Their fully informed consent? No profit in it.
Yes, We may have an occasional interpersonal relationship go sour and One loses One's head over it - but given One now would have the choice of spending time only with Those One LIKES, this will rarely happen. And when it does, it is reported on the central site and Those who care will respond. We no longer will be tied down, unable to afford to travel, so We can show up to solve the problems We care about.
We can solve the problem within Ethics without People (or machines) "policing."

Oh, and We will NOT build robots for "all the jobs that humans can do." ONLY the jobs We do not have ENOUGH People who WANT to do them. And then We will only fill in the gaps. If We need 50 People and 49 WANT to do the job, We only need 1 robot. This allows People who WANT to do the work to continue, taking nothing from Them, and allows People presently doing things They DON'T want to do to go off and learn things and/or create as They WANT to.
No forcing People to do or NOT do anything They want to do as long as that which They are doing is not unEthical. ONLY when a behavior is unEthical do We intervene. Only when We NEED robots do We employ them.

Well you are mostly right Amy, but call me a pessimist, of course when you remove the money you remove the means to control others, and you will remove most of the crime. But there are plenty of people out there who are just plain evil. They will want to harm you or mess up your life just for the hell of it, and it is these people that will need the most attention. As i said, im not so much into politics or sociology, i prefer machines because i understand them better. I have been together with my wife for 15 years & i still dont understand her Back to robots, as i said, they would make the ideal cop, if we happen to need cops. The first robots would of necessity be human shaped, so that they can better interact with humans and be able to operate human machinery. It's fine if Fred says 'i will be the baker, i will bake bread for everybody' and then one day he gets ill or is killed by a falling tree, there needs to be someone who can take over his job in an instant, if there are no assistant bakers around. Education should also be completely revised for this reason. Most kids think they know what they want to be when they grow up, then at some time they completely turn around & want to do something else. Most of them never get the chance at an early age to see & explore all the possibilities, or worse still, they are forced into the careers chosen for them by their parents. By showing them all the things there is to do, and by letting them follow their instincts more, they will diverse far better than they do now. Back in my day Boys did metalwork and Girls did cookery, and this stumped all the girls who wanted to do metalwork & vise versa. Schools today are better than that now, but these kids will need to understand & actively take part in the 'transition' as i call it, and they can't if they do not know what is happening. Apprenticeships are very few these days, mostly the factories hire someone fresh out of college, who has been taught all the neccesary machine skills. But that was all theory, & not enough practise. So these guys turn up & they realise they havent got a clue how a real factory works. Most of them bluff their way through it somehow. But when i go visit a small family run business (for example) i notice that everyone is not only prepared to do each others jobs, they can, because they have seen each other working & everybody is encouraged to be diverse. They have to, in case Fred gets killed by a falling tree. As for how many robots, well you would first need to find out how many of us can work, what we like to do etc. Then you will know how many robots are needed When you do, give me a call, i will probably be running the robot factory, LOL but seriously, robots would be ideal for all the dangerous jobs. Firepeoof robot firemen who dont need to breathe, ebola-proof robot nurses, flying construction robots, the list is endless. Part of my grand plan involves re-structuring the factories & mines to deal with this. I have even allowed for any shortage of metals to be compensated by melting down all the tanks warships planes etc. They will no longer be needed, in fact the whole defense budget could build 1000's of schools & hospitals tomorrow. Funny how they call it a defense budget instead of a publicly funded war machine....... Anyway, i know there will always be minor issues, we may not agree on some things, but on the whole i think were doing better than 98%, there will still be issues long after we are both gone, but as long as the ball is rolling in the right direction, i for one will be happy. But it's a very big job, we have a LOT still to do. My involvement with TAP is, i can see it's merely a set of technical problems, and that means they can be solved, and that means that TAP or something very much like it, can be made to work. It's up to the peeps themselves i guess, and i don't understand them enough to reach a conclusion, i can only hope that enough of them have the sense to see this as a better option.

Of course there are evil People in this world - and They are promoted to power by the system of money. The thing is that, without money, They have no more power than the next One. They, if They choose unEthical behavior, are like any other "petty" criminal today. They are not able to pay Others to do unEthical things for Them. They have to do the evil personally. And the evil Ones make up a very small percentage of Us Humans. So I can't imagine the rest of Us would be unable to solve for Individuals who choose to behave unEthically.
As far as work is concerned, We will add and remove robots as needed, with most of the work being done by robots, to be sure. The baker will not be the ONLY baker on the planet, nor will the bulk of the bread be baked by Humans. So if the One who loves baking becomes ill and cannot bake, We will have to accept the bread baked by robots (which should be on par with the Human-baked bread) or different Humans rather than have the specialties offered by that baker.
But if One WANTS to bake bread, One is not forced NOT to.
Overall, though, I like Your ideas here. And yes, I offer a framework and work to share awareness of what We can do on this planet. Once global discussion is achieved, MY work is done. I figure Others may have ever BETTER ideas on how to eliminate the poverty, wars, useless eliter manipulation, etc. I just want Us discussing the fact that We CAN with the tech We have now.

Amaterasu Solar? Is there a way you could number the pages (post sections) of these posts? Each page getting its own identifying number, within the discussion string?
This would help when referring to comments written in the posts.
For example; the initial article would be number 1. Then the responses that follow would be enumerated in the order they appear under the main article.
Of course you would not feature this application where your article, or articles, are intended to stand alone, without following comment.
Just thought I would inquire about this as more and more ideas begin percolating into this site and it becomes more difficult to order it.

Well, this thread is about what robots We might need to add... Thought People could use the article titles in the discussion thread for TAP, but if numbers are easier, I can place numbers on the listing of articles in the first post in the Foundational Writings thread. Would that help?

Thanks for the responses yall.
I'll just "deal" with it, the way it is.
All I have to do is respond in singular form with each comment.
I was probably getting too ambitious, in wanting to do multiple responses to portions of various comments in the string.
Keep it simple they say.

Bon, has asked in this article: " I am wondering, if you, meaning the world had the opportunity to get the first TAP Robot. Which one would help Tap the most."
Hi Bon. You have asked a difficult question. So many possibilities, seen and unseen.
Right now, after considering several, I will venture to suggest that Farm Bots might help The Abundance Paradigm the most...at least in the beginning.
What makes me say this is the current problem of getting enough "cheap" labor to run the Farms. I don't understand why (other than the challenge of weather; hot Sun - and the manual nature of the labor) but here in California, it appears that the only workers available is the immigrants from South of the border. I just don't see any Americans, other than the owners, doing this critical service to Humanity.
Right now, this problem is fed by the profit motive (a perversion of the Prosperity Quest) and, possibly, too many People.
Anyway, for now, I would think that "Farm Bots" might be the kind that would help "The Abundance Paradigm" the most...at least in the beginning.
But this is a regional response.

Evolution, if it really is a viable principle - unknown - deals with genetics. Stigmergy is the behavior response to information by individuals that produce observable structure in the health of the society. Societies, from insects to wolf-packs, to... all organizing groups. We Humans are organizational Beings as a whole. So stigmergy - allowing the exchange of information and focus to be driven by Human hearts - provides a path for Us to make a very good choice on this planet.
I can't imagine the one thing that could be added that would be to Our detriment of the scale You suggest... And why unleash it if We don't need it? It would be unEthical. I AM an advocate of Ethics here...I do carry "AOE" after My name in some places! LOL! All We need is to have free power (free energy), Each of Us, presume We are all armed (We WILL be politer), and affect the things within Ethics. Ethics are the only measure of crime. If nothing broke the Laws (the three of them), it's then a matter of Some wanting to impose Their will on Others. Stigmergy does not rely on imposition of will to get things done. It's based in caring. If the amount of money skimmed from Us into "charity" is an indicator, We Humans are mightily motivated by Our caring.
As long as We perpetuate the money motive for doing things, the beauty that could emerge from Humanity will be stifled - motivated and controlled - life or death controlled - by money. The psychopaths protect this system because it keeps Them in control. Sure, We may affect setbacks to Them by shifting to something else - bitcoin instead of $, say - but in the end, They WILL gain the control. They will do ANYTHING to get it.
And to keep on topic [grin] I think farm bots of the size of... Footballs with appendages - or maybe smaller - could run around the soil, fixing it up in furrows or whatever works best for the crop, removing all the weeds and bugs that eat the crop, planting the seed, keeping the bugs off, removing any weeds, reporting any need for water (which People are more than welcome to discuss the logistics of, and if so I'll throw ideas in), harvesting with help moving it along, going about preparing for the next crop rotation that farmers We might poll suggest is best, maybe rotate fields themselves.
Once harvested, We can account for the measure and offer it on the web. Open-source program all of Our works. People that give the best results will ensure that the product meets the request from a programming standpoint, I would expect. What caring programmer wouldn't want to be known as the One who came up with the best solution? Rather like Linus/Linux, eh? Or contributed to a good start? Bragging rights are a very good motivator...
Betterment, not money. And in Betterment there is never an unEthical thing done. Yeah, We can nitpick hypotheticals, but overall, most of Us choose not to behave clearly unEthically. We may choose to throw anger in words, which is a reflection of Each who chooses that behavior, but We draw the line at hitting and killing...unless there is money involved. As a rule, eh?

What percentage of Those who THINK They don't want TAP can be shown that when They think about it, They too benefit from TAP over maintaining this horror show on this planet? Some, I would think but how many is unknown. I will not allow the possibility of something going wrong overall - like a bloody revolution while I try to bring the revolution in ideas alone - for that would be believing it can't be accomplished. And I know it can be. This web... A lot of things exist in Creation, and We control Our creation, Co-Creation, One/Many with the information We have. Free flow of information is what allows the stigmergy in Humanity to flow towards Betterment that most of Us seek. We are mostly deterred by the cost of what We desire to do to better things. We feel powerless to do anything about the big problems and focus on the daily solutions We create. Meanwhile, the psychopaths at the top continue to use Us as sacrifice and cash cows. Laughing now as I write at how many are buying the Paris Charlie show as reality. "Given these: that the networks fought and won against efforts to make it "law" that news has to be true, that the "law" making it illegal for the government to issue propaganda was overturned, the ownership of the media by few, and that all money systems promote the most psychopathic to the top of the money/power heap, We might conclude that most of what We are told is going on in the world is distorted at best, and good probability fabricated."

Amaterasu Solar has responded to my request to make some comparison between "Evolution" and "Stigmergy" :
"Evolution, if it really is a viable principle - unknown - deals with genetics. Stigmergy is the behavior response to information by individuals that produce observable structure in the health of the society."
Permit me to address your response in parts?
"Evolution, if it really is a viable principle - unknown -..."
In my belief (I cannot prove it, as so many things cannot yet be proven.) Evolution is a "Very Viable Principle". We may have differences around the term "viable", but I will not go into that now. It's True Meaning is "unknown" to Most, but like The Abundance Paradigm, will not always be so.
"...deals with genetics."
You indicate the erroneous and stunted use of the word "Evolution", when you say it "deals with genetics". Yes, it does have bearing on genetics, but, also, so very much more than that.
It is part of my responsibility to You to try and present certain revelatory Truths to You. But I will not go here again unless You ask me to do so.
"Stigmergy is the behavior response (response to behavior) to information by individuals that produce observable structure in the health of the society."
Your points about "Stigmergy" well taken and accepted as far as they go. Good solid ground here...no wings needed.
Thank you for Your revealing and sincere response.

Evolution, agreed, has many levels, but it's foundational expression is mostly in genetics. I do think that evolution does occur, but it is distinct from stigmergy, for which We have abundant evidence. You put in parentheses "response to behavior" after My phrase "behavior response." While response to behavior is part of responding to information (the observing of behavior is information gathering), the behavior response need not be to that specific information. We respond to many things that would not normally be considered "behavior" - though We could say an earthquake is "behavior" of the planet, behavior usually means an action by something living. Stigmergy deals more with behavior choices made relative to all information available.
In insects, for example, the number of individuals encountered out gathering food in an area defines whether they choose to continue looking for food or go back to the nest to help out there. This is not directly related to the behavior of the others, but to the number of encounters. The whole fractalizes out of seed parameters built in - the instruction set that suggests that meeting many food-gatherers while out gathering food should be met with a return to the nest is the seed parameter.
Of course, Human stigmery is far more complex in its fractalization, but the seed parameters are foundationally few. What is the code of behavior? Is it based on Ethics or profit - working towards Betterment or towards profit? What is the code for caring for the planet? Is it based on best practices or profit? What is the code for coding Our machines? Is the machine code open and available to be evolved towards better or is it hidden for profit? What is the code for getting needed work done? Do We use People who WANT to do the work and fill in with machines or do We force, coerce and bribe ("pay") Humans to do it? What is the code for sharing information? Do We allow all info to flow freely or do We hide a lot for control/profit? What is the code for life-focus? Is it seeking One's interests and developing them or is it finding a way to plug in One's energy for enough accounting tokens to be considered a "success?"
From this comparison of the seed parameters We're working with on this planet - the seed now and the seed I propose, I think it is clear that what would emerge fractally from this stigmergic approach would stand high probability of being better, on both the health, happiness and freedom of the Individual as well as on the resulting society.
As to information offered, I'm willing to hear, publicly or privately as You choose.

hm a long thread, reading between the lines; Hmm, i'm not in any way a philosopher but; Yes i think that robots ARE a natural part of our evolution, and, who cares if they become smarter than us? I for one would welcome someone who does not need sleep, who never gets tired or bored, who is always willing to listen to my BS ramblings! We need to have mental sparring partners to keep our wits keen, and i think that a robot, through logical programming, will be able to think logically as it seems that most humans can't. Me? i'm cold as a fish, just call me Mr. Spock! I am in no way frightened or awed by the fact that we can now create machines that can learn, and out think us....it's about time, i would say! I havent thought of it much, but yes, in the early years of the transition we will need to be armed, and all of us trained in unarmed combat, i would insist on this. I have had some weapons training, i know that my wife would baulk at this, but; If someone was going to rob you of your life's work, even your life, are you not allowed to defend it? Yes of course, by deadly force if need be, the needs of the many etc... And no, i don't give a poop about the one that needs help, they can always ask for it, but if they decide to TAKE, then i will not GIVE. Being English, and we are sometimes cold hearted f*ers, i can easily kill those who would take....those that ask however, may have everything. That is maybe what makes me such a bad person; i know that i can kill, & have no problem with it, as long as those close to me can survive, that is in a way, my gift to them; i can kill the baddies so they dont have to. Peeps think that you need a long time to decide such things, well you can tell within 1/10 of a second if someone wants you dead or not, and my response is often faster than that, it's either them or me! Even then i will give them a second chance, but they had better be quick! LOL Better not to kill anyone, let the 'bots disarm us & stop us from fighting each other, it seems no-one else has the balls to do so.....but i see a new era of peace & communication coming that will unite us all.

As for robotic Ethics... None without Conscious awareness should be programmed to break the three Laws. To any AI, these Laws should be taught. As long as We choose Ethics as the standard, We will see very little in the way of problems for society as a whole, with or without robotics. Of course without them, We must force, coerce or bribe ("pay") People to do work We need done and no One wants to do it.

Yes, this is the whole Asimov paradigm, and i invite anyone who never heard of him to read all his books, the early novels dealt with the ethics of having smart robots, well worth reading IMHO
OUR 3 laws, and the robot 3 laws, will essentially be the same.
I disagree with Amy because i think we need 5 laws.
4th law is the Zeroth law: any one (man or robot) can do as they please in their spare time, so long as it does not contradict the first 3 laws.
5th law is the Calvanistic one: You may, if nothing else is possible, take a human (or robot) life, if it is for the greater good. This law forbids the use of robots as or by terrorists, or example, and promotes free thinking among both groups.
These are not my thoughts, these are those of Asimov, who died nearly 20 years ago!
