I tried the cardboard box with plastic bags.modem overheated and melted its brain.
This time i took a metal two stroke gas can.cut the bottom out, punched out holes for cables, took off spout cap.
Its now cooled. It drops off to zero twenty feet outside the house. Gets great speed. If they try to ghost my house, they get four metal walls and a hole in the ceiling.

My buddies told me it wasnt a melted brain but a server.thats what i originally thought.ive wondered if hughes net was as shitty as dish network and almost one year later its failed. What i did was go to the dish and swung it.i watched it boot back up to sattelite.sending and recieving.i then pinged it and it said my stuff was good to the modem.it has a system light and the system light was off.i thought,if the sattelite recognizes the modem then odds are its malware from hughesnet locking me out.then i called them and five times in a row i got medic alert bracelet.thats when i knew a shitty company used a shitty call center that would lead to shitty tech support. They conned my wife out of ten dollars more a month to get it "fixed". I did get my dish dialed in better by them: ) They have no footprint or wattage control on the modem and keeping the radiation off us is top priority.if people knew that modem was a floodlight yet all they need is a candle, they would be so pissed. I even lose a bar of wifi on my tablet with the gas can,FUCK YEAH!
